Toyota introduced the Toyota Open Labs platform, which will bring start-ups together in the Toyota ecosystem to drive the new era of mobility and support innovation.

This platform powers Toyota's transformation into a mobility company. zamAt the same time, it will deepen its expertise in Energy, Circular Economy, Carbon Neutral Technologies, Smart Communities and Mobility for All.

Toyota Open Labs aims to work with start-ups in these five categories. In the energy field, the focus will be on technologies that will facilitate the energy transition and innovations that will power the hydrogen economy.

In the Circular Economy field, studies will be carried out on the recycling and reuse of electric vehicles and their batteries. Carbon Neutral Technologies will help companies and societies reduce carbon emissions by making the lifecycle of products more transparent.

In the Smart Communities area, new solutions such as car sharing, new driving models and mobility centers will be supported. In the Mobility for All category, studies on mobility designs that will meet the needs of the entire society in a way that will provide movement to everyone will be at the forefront.

Toyota Open Labs partners include Toyota Tsusho Europe, Toyota's trade and supply chain arm, Toyota's mobility brand KINTO Europe, the brand's growth venture fund Woven Capital, and the non-profit foundation Toyota Mobility Foundation.

Start-ups will be able to showcase their products at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

Start-ups selected by Toyota will be able to develop new growth opportunities and business strategies by interacting with a diverse group of consultants and mentors. Thus, they will be able to consciously develop products and establish relationships that will help them make a global impact.

Start-ups participating in Toyota Open Labs will also have the opportunity to develop concepts with Toyota, explore ways to market, and partner with the Toyota ecosystem. In addition, each participant will receive development support and the opportunity to showcase their technology at the Demo Day during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
