At the end of the first day, Hyundai driver Thierry Neuville maintained his leadership with a difference of 2 seconds, while Toyota driver Kalle Rovanpera took second place.

Despite getting in the way, Neuville performed well and managed to finish the day as the leader. Rovanpera, on the other hand, eliminated the disadvantages of opening the road in the second stage and rose to second place in the general classification.
