Carlos Sainz takes pole at Monza
Carlos Sainz achieved a great success by winning the pole position in the qualifying rounds of Formula 1's Italian Grand Prix. Sainz achieved pole position with a spectacular performance in the last lap, passing Max Verstappen by only 0.013 seconds.

“It's been a very intense qualifying season to be honest; especially Q3.”
“All three of us had a hard time, we were very, very borderline. And on that final lap, I knew I could improve my lap a little bit on Ascari and Parabolica, and I worked for it. My efforts paid off because I pushed really hard on the last lap.”
When asked how it felt to take the pole position with Ferrari at Monza, Sainz said: "I got goosebumps when I crossed the finish line, I watched the crowd throughout the lap." said.
“This is incredible. Everywhere we go there is noise, support and encouragement. It's the best feeling you can have as an athlete and a driver."
Sainz said their number one goal for Sunday's race was to secure a podium position.
“Our number one goal will be the podium and I will give everything to hold on to first place.”
“We will see if we can fight Max with a good start. Normally he is faster at race pace, but I will give it my all.”
