Skoda aims to hold on to the mid-range sedan segment by redesigning the 2024 Superb

The middle class sedan segment in Europe is getting smaller and smaller. The withdrawal of Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, Ford Mondeo and Volkswagen Arteon leads to significant changes in this segment. The Mazda6 is getting old, while the Volkswagen Passat will only be offered as a station wagon. However, Skoda is determined to maintain its presence in this segment by redesigning the 2024 Superb.

The next-generation Superb will be offered as a more functional liftback, replacing traditional sedans. The dimensions of the new generation of Superb have been increased. Its length has been increased to 4912 mm, offering a spacious interior, while the height has been increased to 1481 mm.

The width and wheelbase were retained as 1834 mm and 2841 mm, respectively. These size increases will offer 11mm more headroom in the front seats and 6mm more in the rear seats. Luggage capacity will increase to an impressive 645 liters with the rear seats in place. In addition, the drag coefficient was reduced to 0.24, thanks to various design changes that improved the aerodynamics of the vehicle.

While Skoda hasn't revealed the interior yet, it will likely have a similar design to the Superb Combi. This interior will offer modern features such as a 13-inch touchscreen, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. In addition, the Superb will feature an optional head-up display for the first time.

The refreshed model will be offered in the traditional Sportline and Laurin & Klement trim levels, as well as lower-end versions such as Essence and Selection. Active, Ambition and Style trim levels are no longer available. The official launch will take place in November, and at the same event, Skoda will also introduce the station wagon model.
