Instagram account deactivation means temporarily suspending your account. After deactivating your account, you can reactivate your account and continue using it where you left off. To reactivate your account, you can log in with your username or the email, phone number and password registered to the account. Your account is automatically activated.

When your account is frozen:

No one can see your profile but you.
Some information may still appear, such as messages you sent to your friends.
Your name will not appear in your friends' friend lists.
Group administrators cannot see your posts and comments along with your name.

Instagram account deletion means permanently closing your account. After deleting your account, you cannot reactivate your account and access your information on Instagram. After your account is deleted:

Your profile, photos, posts, videos and everything will be deleted permanently. You cannot retrieve this information.
