Aston Martin unveils the DB12 Volante
Aston Martin continues to pay special attention to one of its most special models, the DB12. The DB12, the latest model to receive the "Volante" jewel, is losing its ceiling with this jewellery. The fabric ceiling that replaces it is much more technological than you think.
In the press release published by Aston, this design was particularly emphasized. Covering the fabric roof with 8 layers of insulation material, the manufacturer assures that the cabin interior is at least as quiet as the GT version. The roof of the model can be opened and closed at speeds of up to 50 km / h. The roof takes 14 seconds to open and 16 seconds to close.
The British manufacturer will sell the model in a variant with a black fabric roof as standard. But there is no restriction for customers who want more. You will have the opportunity to change many details, from the body color to the color of the fabric roof.
Of course, the model's similarities with the GT version are not limited to "silence". Despite its extra weight, the Volante-mounted model will be able to produce 4.0 hp and 680 Nm of torque from the 800-liter biturbo unit. 0-100 km / h acceleration of the model takes 3.7 seconds. This makes it only a tenth of a second slower than its standard sibling.
Aston Martin will put the DB12 Volante into production by the third quarter of the year. Deliveries are expected to start in the last quarter.
