Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Cahit Turhan stated that the Bosphorus Express, which will meet the need for transportation at the intermediate stations where high speed trains (YHT) do not stop between Ankara and Arifiye (Sakarya), will start again from tomorrow.
Turhan said that as a ministry, citizens carefully monitor all their travel needs and start new services not only on YHTs but also on conventional lines.
Turhan stated that the General Directorate of TCDD Tasimacilik AS, which is affiliated to the Ministry, is expanding its service range and quality day by day, and reminded that the Lake Express was put into service in October and the application of the Orange Table Service Point, which will be the leg of the handicapped people before World Disabled Day.
Turhan informed that 2009 million passengers have been transported since 52,4, when the first YHT was put into service, and that the main and regional trains operating on conventional lines served a considerable amount of passengers.
Emphasizing that they are trying to facilitate their lives by fulfilling the transportation demands of the citizens within the scope of the facilities, Turhan stated that they are working to re-serve the Bosphorus Express, which was interrupted on 1 February 2013 for this purpose.
Minister Turhan said, “The Bosphorus Express, which will meet the transportation needs between Ankara and Arifiye (Sakarya) at the intermediate stations where YHTs do not stop, will start on 8 December (tomorrow).” said.

Giving information about the expedition times and travel time of the Bosphorus Express, Turhan said:
“With the Bosphorus Express to be operated during the day, the travel time will be approximately 6 hours. The train will depart from Ankara at 08.15, and will arrive at Arifiye at 14.27. The train, which will depart from Arifiye at 15.30, will reach Ankara at 21.34. The Bosphorus Express, with a capacity of 240 passengers, will consist of 4 pulman wagons. The express, which will load and drop passengers at 16 stations, large and small, where YHTs do not stop, and the passenger will be increased if the demand is high. ”
Stating that the first expedition will start from Ankara on Sunday, Turhan said, “The longest distance fee of the Bosphorus Express, which will offer a comfortable and enjoyable journey, has been determined as 55 lira.” said.
History of Bosphorus Express
The Bosphorus Express was a main railway line operated by TCDD between Istanbul and Ankara. 2012-2014 was operating between Arifiye and Eskişehir. Train 24 was stopped on July 2014 and replaced by YHT trains.
Although it had an express name, it served many local stations between Arifiye and Ankara and was popular among students because of its low cost.
The Bosphorus Express, 1 On June 1968, Istanbul started its services from Haydarpasa Train Station to Ankara Train Station in Ankara with the brand new wagons of CIWL, one of the leading trains of TCDD. The cost of a single ticket was 32 lira and the round trip ticket was 56 lira. The locomotives of the train are diesel and the 1977 km railway from Istanbul to Arifiye was electrified at 131.
