Türkiye loves SUVs: Market share exceeded 51 percent

According to the March data of the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association, the light commercial vehicle market in March increased by 5,7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 109 thousand 828 units.

While car sales last month increased by 2023 percent compared to the same period in 9,9, reaching 87 thousand 71 units, the light commercial vehicle market decreased by 7,9 percent to 22 thousand 757.

Turkey's choice became SUV again

When evaluated according to body types, the most preferred body type was SUV cars with 51,7 percent share and 120 thousand 699 units.

It was followed by sedans with 28,5 percent share and 66 thousand 451 units, and H/B cars with 18,1 percent shares and 42 thousand 145 sales.

When we look at the numbers around the world, we see that SUV models are now mostly preferred in cars.

Although sedan models are dominant in our country, interest in the SUV segment is increasing day by day.

SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) cars, which can be used in different terrain conditions as well as on asphalt, offer a wide range of driving conditions.
