Tesla, which started its sales in Turkey with Model Y, attracted attention with its competitive prices, but later increased the price of its car several times.
When sales started to decline at the end of last year, the brand brought its cheaper model to our country.
New Tesla Model Y on sale
Tesla, one of the world's most well-known electric car manufacturers, launched the affordable Model Y for sale in Turkey.
The reason why this model is affordable is that it does not exceed the 160kW limit. Thus, the vehicle falls into the 10 percent Special Consumption Tax bracket and its price drops by half.
Price dropped by half
Model Y, which was sold for 15 million 3 thousand TL on April 204, is now available for 1 million 700 thousand TL with the arrival of the new version.
Tesla is not happy with sales
Looking at Tesla's monthly sales in 2023, it is seen that it delivered 200 units in May and 800 units in June.
The brand sold 1500 units in July and made its highest sales in August with 4 units.
After August, Tesla's sales remained below a thousand units, and the brand completed 2023 with sales of 12 thousand 150 units.
Customer dissatisfaction began to emerge because an after-sales service could not be provided in true proportion to the number of vehicles sold.
Tesla, which had a bad start to this year, sold a total of 220 Model Y units in two months, 75 in January and 295 in February.
