Ott Tanak has won three in the last four Rally Finland and beat Kalle Rovanpera last year. This season doesn't look as good as in the championship season with M-Sport Ford, but he's still keen to win.
Tanak is coming to Finland with morale even though he has changed engines in Estonia and has been suspended for five minutes. However, he is aware that they are behind the others in terms of speed.
“Right now the speed gap between us [with Toyota and Hyundai] is pretty big, last year it was different,” Tanak said. said. “You really need the perfect package to get up to speed in Finland.”
“Of course we're not giving up, but unfortunately we don't have any more performance to add to what we have now. Still, we will do our best to get a good result.”
If Tanak doesn't do well in Finland, his chances of winning the title will also decrease. However, as an experienced driver, Tanak still has the potential to score a surprise win.
