The new electric vehicles, which will be introduced on September 1, will come with a longer wheelbase and wider track.

Mini has started the countdown to introduce the 2024 Cooper EV and Countryman EV. The automaker will unveil its new models at an event to be held on September 1 at 11:00 am.

Mini's previous tips give a good idea of what to expect from these models. The Cooper EV is built on the Spotlight electric vehicle-focused platform, which has a longer wheelbase and wider track than the current model. But the length of about 3.8 meters does not change much.

The base Cooper E rig uses a 386 kilowatt-hour battery that offers a range of approximately 40 km. A single electric motor will produce 181 horsepower. A more powerful version, the Cooper SE, comes with a 54 kWh battery and a 215 hp electric motor. Prices in the UK will start at around £30.000 (equivalent to around $37.730). Sales will begin in the summer of 2024.

Recent spy photos show the Mini possibly developing a John Cooper Works variant. There are currently no details about the features. Looking at its previous versions, we can say that the JCW model will offer higher power compared to other hardware levels.

Mini has already revealed the Cooper EV's interior. The company simplifies the layout by designing the circular screen above the instrument cluster to perform both entertainment and display functions. There is a screen in front of the driver. An oval-shaped section in the center console contains some physical buttons.
