Otokar, Turkey's global land systems manufacturer, is exhibiting 20 vehicles from its extensive armored vehicle family at the IDEX International Defense Industry Fair held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, on February 24-2023, 6.
One of the Koç Group companies, Otokar continues to successfully represent Turkey in different geographies in the field of defense industry. The company, which exports its vehicles produced for the defense industry to more than 40 countries, is making a show of strength at IDEX, one of the most important defense fairs of the world. At the IDEX International Defense Industry Fair, held in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, on February 20-24, 2023, Otokar's world-renowned military vehicles as well as its superior capabilities in the field of land systems are being introduced. Otokar takes part in the fair to be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center with its 6 vehicles.
During the 5-day fair, the AKREP II Armored Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Weapon Platform Vehicle with the COCKERILL CSE 90LP 90mm Turret, the ARMA 8×8 Armored Combat Vehicle with the 30mm MIZRAK Tower system, and the TULPAR Tracked Armored Combat Vehicle with the 30mm MIZRAK Turret system will be exhibited at the Otokar stand. At the Otokar stand, visitors will also have the opportunity to closely examine the COBRA II Armored Personnel Carrier, the COBRA II MRAP Mine-Proof Armored Vehicle and the ARMA 6×6 Armored Personnel Carrier.

Underlining that IDEX has a special importance for Otokar, which takes its position in the international defense industry to higher levels every year, General Manager Serdar Görgüç said; “In addition to being a NATO and United Nations supplier, today we have nearly 40 military vehicles serving nearly 60 users in more than 33 countries. With our vehicles in Turkey and in various regions of the world, we reflect the experiences we have gained in different climates and geographies to our vehicle development studies. Serdar Görgüç stated that different models of vehicles in Otokar's wide military vehicle product range have been successfully serving in different forces in the Middle East and Gulf Region since the beginning of the 2000s; “As Otokar, we care about the Middle East and the Gulf Region. We are closer to our users in the region with our Otokar Land Systems company, which we established in 2016. We better observe the needs and expectations of our current and potential users and closely follow the developments. With Otokar Land Systems, we have accomplished successful works in the last 7 years. In 2017, we signed the biggest and most important 8×8 tactical wheeled armored vehicle contract of the period and successfully completed the deliveries. Thanks to our superior design, testing and production capabilities, we have the ability to respond quickly to the ever-changing requirements and needs of our users. Today, Otokar also stands out with its technology transfer and local production capabilities. We aim to develop our collaborations with our existing users and add new ones during IDEX, which we hope will be productive.”
AKREP II's all-wheel drive system and optionally available steerable rear axle offer a unique maneuverability to the vehicle. AKREP II, which has superior mobility in all kinds of terrain conditions such as mud, snow and puddles, the main mechanical components of the systems such as steering, acceleration and braking are electrically controlled (drive-by-wire). This feature; It enables remote control of the vehicle, adaptation of driving assistance systems and autonomous driving. Developed to be adaptable to many different mission profiles, AKREP II can take part in missions such as surveillance, armored reconnaissance, air defense and forward surveillance, as well as different missions such as fire support vehicle, air defense vehicle, anti-tank vehicle.
