Warnings to electric vehicle drivers who will hit the road during the Eid holiday

Eid al-Fitr is approaching and millions of citizens have already hit the roads for the holiday.

Berkan Bayram, President of the Turkish Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Association, warned electric vehicle owners who will hit the road on holiday.

Stating that electric vehicle drivers often travel long distances during holiday periods, Bayram pointed out that users should check the availability of charging stations on their routes during this period and hit the road.

“Pay attention to charging times”

Bayram stated that charging time may vary depending on the brand and model of the vehicles and said:

The average charging time of 45 minutes with a real current charging socket and approximately 3,5 hours with alternating current should be taken into account.

There is only one brand in Turkey that implements the charging by reservation system. You can make an appointment in advance and charge there, but charging congestion may occur during periods when the roads are heavy.

“Check the stations”

To prevent this, charging stations on the routes should be inspected. There may be no need to wait for 100 percent charging at charging stations.

In some cases, you can reach a range of 15 kilometers with 150 minutes of charging. Therefore, charging at 15 different points for 3 minutes can reduce the intensity.

Stating that 2 vehicles can benefit from each charging unit, Bayram emphasized that charging stations should not be used or occupied as parking lots.

Bayram said that the interest in electric vehicles in Turkey is high and the market is in a growing trend.
