Toyota's world rally team won the Kenya Safari Rally for four consecutive years by taking first place in 2024.

GAZOO Racing pilots Kalle Rovanperä and Takamoto Katsuta took the first two places in the Safari Rally, one of the most difficult rallies of the WRC.

Thus, Toyota continued to win the race, which returned to the calendar in 2021, and furthered its record by increasing the number of wins in the history of the rally to 12.

The new vehicle took the stage

In this race, Toyota used the GR YARIS Rally1 HYBRID vehicle with updated suspension and a new snorkel system.

Rovanperä and his co-driver Jonne Halttunen won the race for the second time, following their success in 2022. The duo managed to maintain the high performance they showed on Friday throughout the weekend and won the rally by 1 minute and 37.8 seconds.

Takamoto Katsuta finished the rally second and managed to get on the podium in three of the four races he participated in Kenya. With these results, Toyota rose to first place in the Brands Championship with a difference of 4 points.
