According to the statement made by the China Sinopec Group, two hydrogen-powered vehicles recently successfully completed the transportation test from Beijing to Shanghai, covering a distance of 500 kilometers.
This test was recorded as the country's first large-scale, long-distance and regional transportation trial for hydrogen-powered vehicles. Hydrogen energy stands out as one of the main development directions in China's emerging and future industries, playing an important role in the development of new quality productive forces.
Currently, China is the world leader in hydrogen energy patents. The country's annual hydrogen consumption is approximately 40 million tons, and this consumption is mainly used in the industrial and chemical sectors.
According to data released by the China National Energy Administration, China's hydrogen demand is expected to reach 2060 million tons by 130, and hydrogen use in the transportation sector is expected to account for 31 percent of the total demand.
