Chery's new brand Jaecoo came to Turkey!

Jaecoo, the new brand of Chinese car manufacturer Chery, is now counting the days to come to Turkey.

In a recent special statement to Habertürk, the authorities at the brand's headquarters in China pointed out the second quarter of the year for Jaecoo's arrival in Turkey.

While this countdown continues, a remarkable statement came from Chery Turkey General Manager Ahu Turan.

Stating that they brought Jaecoo 7 to Turkey for testing purposes, Turan said that dealership negotiations for the new brand are continuing.

Turan stated that they want to bring all 8 models of Jaecoo to Turkey within the year.

GASOLINE AND HYBRID FUTURE

We also announced in our previous news that both PHEV and fuel-powered units will operate under the hood of Jaecoo models.

To remind you once again, these engine options are expected to be identical to the fuel engines currently in the Tiggo model family.

Jaecoo 7 will enter Turkey with a single hardware package. The vehicle will be offered in 4×4 and 4×2 options.

In the online meeting we held with Chery officials in the previous weeks, we learned that the brand's PHEV (Plug-in hybrid electric) engine cars will be offered for sale in Turkey in the last quarter of 2024.

Chery's first PHEV engine car in Turkey will be the sedan model Arrizo 8.

The 1.6 TGDI fuel engine can be purchased with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The PHEV hybrid engine paired with the 1.5-liter fuel engine works with a DHT type transmission.

Thus, Chery's cars can continue to be sold in Turkey without being exposed to electric vehicle notification and the 40 percent additional tax applied to electric vehicles imported from China.
