Alfa Romeo's new vehicle Milan angered the Italian government

Alfa Romeo announced the name of its highly anticipated new model in the B-SUV segment in recent months.

"Milano", the first sports urban vehicle in the brand's history and whose 100 percent electric version will be offered to world markets, has been officially introduced.

The world launch of Milano is a tribute to Milan, the city from which it takes its name and where everything about the brand began on June 24, 1910.

Reaction came from Italy

The car will be produced at the factory in Tychy, Poland, and will also be the first Alfa Romeo model produced entirely outside Italy.

Italian Business Minister Adolfo Urso criticized Stellantis' decision to produce Alfa Romeo's first fully electric vehicle (EV), Milano, in a different country and said that it was contrary to the articles.

In his statement, Minister Urso referred to a 2003 law that prohibits terms that may mislead consumers: “A car named Milan cannot be produced in Poland. “This is prohibited compared to Italian articles.” dedicate.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares announced that producing the Milano model in Poland reduced costs.
