Mercedes' Iconic G-Class Has No Limits on Off-Road Since 1979

Mercedes-Benz once again shows that it is the leader among luxury off-road vehicles with the renewed G-Class. With increased performance thanks to electric drive systems, modern driving assistance systems, higher comfort and advanced digitalization, the new models overcome all conditions. The model series, whose foundations were laid in 1979, offers almost unlimited customization options with the most diverse engine options ever seen. The new G-Class sets standards in the off-road vehicle segment

The design of the leading off-road vehicle is based on the ladder-type chassis concept developed as a result of various tests. Equipped with three mechanical differential locks and Low Range off-road speed reduction gears, as well as a rigid rear axle and independent front suspension system, the basis of the off-road driving characteristics of the new G-Series is the vehicle's ground clearance and suspension features. The new G-Class is now more versatile

In addition to the new Mercedes-AMG G 63 high-performance off-road vehicle, the new Mercedes-Benz G 450 d (combined weighted energy consumption: 10,0-8,7 l/100 km | combined weighted carbon (CO₂) emissions: 261-227 g /km | CO2 class: G), the range of options is further expanded. All engines now have a fully electric drive system. 48 volt mild hybrid engines offer higher performance with less fuel consumption. The fully electric variant of the G-Class, which will be offered for the first time, will be added to the model portfolio at a later date.

There have been no major changes to the appearance of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class for nearly 45 years. Only minor changes were made to the exterior design of the new models. Visible changes include the new radiator grille, equipped with four horizontal slats instead of the previously used three slats, and redesigned front and rear bumpers. The new A-pillar trim and the spoiler lip used at the roof end contribute to improved aerodynamics and higher sound comfort.

Metallic sodalite blue body color is offered as a new color option on the new models, which are equipped with 18-inch light alloy wheels with five double-spoke design and high-performance LED headlights with optimized aerodynamic features as standard. Additionally, new wheel designs ranging from 18 to 20 inches are also among the options.

The PROFESSIONAL Exterior Design Concept can also be used to further emphasize the off-road driving character of the new G-Class vehicles. The package includes stone-repellent grilles for the headlights, fenders and 18-inch off-road tires. In addition, the EXCLUSIVE Exterior Design Concept highlights the unique character of the vehicle with its silver chrome radiator grille, MULTIBEAM LED headlights, stainless steel spare wheel cover and side steps. The AMG Design Concept gives the new G-Class vehicles a decidedly sporty appearance. In this context, characteristic features of the dynamic appearance include mudguard components, 20-inch AMG light-alloy wheels and a multifunction steering wheel covered in sporty nappa leather in the interior. Additionally, the Night Package, which includes black color and sporty, stylish design components, is also offered as an option.

The interior design is very luxurious and functional. With the integration of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, the new G-Class is more digital than ever. Offered as an option, KEYLESS-GO offers high comfort with its Burmester® 3D surround sound system and MBUX Luxury Rear Seat Entertainment system. There are also additional advanced safety and driving support systems. The scope of the MANUFAKTUR design concept has been expanded again for comprehensive personalization of the vehicle's interior and exterior design.

It offers more features between dynamic on-road driving performance and off-road driving expertise.

Electrically assisted, AMG 4,0 liter V8 bi-turbo engine

The AMG 63 liter V4,0 bi-turbo engine of the new Mercedes-AMG G 8 Series produces 430 kW (585 hp) power output and 850 Nm maximum torque. The integrated starter generator (ISG), offered with 48-volt electrical technology, provides 15 kW (20 hp) additional power and 200 Nm torque as a new feature. The new Mercedes-AMG G 63 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4,4 seconds, while this dynamic traction power reaches 220 km/h.zamIt continues up to speed. 240 km/h with optional AMG Performance Packagezami speed and 4,3-0 km/h acceleration can be achieved in 100 seconds.

AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension system

The new Mercedes-AMG G 63 offers superior driving experience along with advanced comfort. The AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension system, equipped with active, hydraulic balancing and adaptive adjustable shock absorber system, contributes significantly to this. The system is available as separate optional equipment or as part of the AMG Offroad Package PRO and the AMG Performance Package.

As part of the AMG Offroad PRO Package, two additional driving modes are offered for off-road driving. 'AMG Traction PRO' provides braking and torque control to the wheels, depending on the road surface. The vehicle provides maximum traction in the 'Rock' and 'Sand' driving programs.

Fast shifting: AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission

The standard AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission wins the appreciation of sporty drivers with its dynamic gear shifting feature. Depending on the selected drive program, it enables gear shifting either sporty and fast or comfortable and barely noticeable. Thanks to the 9-speed automatic transmission, the engine is generally in the optimal rev range.

With 5 road driving programs offered within the scope of DYNAMIC SELECT: 'Slippery', 'Comfort', 'Sport', 'Sport+' and 'Personal', you can choose between efficient, comfortable or extremely sporty. In addition to the 'Comfort', 'Sport' and 'Sport+' modes of the adaptive, adjustable suspension system, 3 driving programs: 'Sand', 'Road' and 'Rocky Ground' are also offered for off-road use.

Indoor and outdoor design concept with unmissable details for a unique look

Distinctive design features used in both the interior and exterior design of the vehicle give the new Mercedes-AMG G 63 Series a unique appearance. MANUFAKTUR matte hyper blue body color is offered specifically for this luxury model. The new AMG-specific front bumper, equipped with three vertical fins in front of the air intakes, stands out characteristically at the front of the vehicle. Stainless steel components are also used in the bumper. Adaptive MULTIBEAM LED headlights are offered as standard equipment. Thanks to smart lighting functions, the headlights illuminate the road according to the road condition and respond to the current traffic situation with the help of the high-performance LED headlight. LED technology is also used in the rear taillights.

Other features of the vehicle include the AMG emblem used on the bodywork and in the exterior mirror projection for the first time, and the silver chrome AMG fuel tank cover with black design details. The exterior design is completed by silver brake calipers, perforated brake discs and new 20-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in five-twin-spoke design. A total of six different wheel designs are available in sizes between 20 and 22 inches, with three different color options.

Unique details are used in the interior design of the new Mercedes-AMG G 63, highlighting the sporty design of the series. An AMG Performance Nappa leather-covered steering wheel with touch-sensitive buttons is offered as standard. With their striking appearance and intuitive operating logic, the AMG steering wheel buttons are used to control AMG-specific driving functions and all drive programs. The AMG logo on the steering wheel, central media screen, door sills, floor mats and front seat backs is also standard.
