A Fast Korean in Tokyo: Hyundai NPX1 Concept

Hyundai Motor Company is showcasing an exciting prototype N Performance model at the Tokyo Motor Show 2024. The concept model, equipped with official modification parts, is based on the IONIQ 5 N. This special concept, called NPX1, maximizes its existing power and visuality with high-quality performance add-ons.

The brand's high-power vehicles N department started working with the i2019 N model for the first time in 30 and achieved maximum efficiency from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles such as Elantra N, Veloster N and i20 N, respectively. Hyundai N department now continues its projects with IONIQ 0 N, which accelerates from 100 to 3.4 km/h in just 5 seconds. While IONIQ 5 N produces 650 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque, the range of the fully electric vehicle is 385 km.

NPX1, the first fruit of these efforts, combines its wild appearance with a high-performance electric engine. The carbon front grille, front bumper with large air intake, running boards, rear bumper diffuser, trunk spoiler and lightened hybrid carbon wheels are the most striking body parts of the car. In addition, maximum road holding and safe stopping are achieved with high-performance brake pads and lower coils. The interior of the concept model has Alcantara-covered racing type seats.

These parts, exhibited with the NPX1 concept, will be further developed and put on sale in 2024. Hyundai N department will offer "N Performance Parts" products to car lovers for all N models, starting from IONIQ 5 N.
