Recently, Tesla's Cybertruck model came to the fore again with accident photos shared by a Reddit user. In the photographs, it can be seen that the 2009 model Toyota Corolla suffered significant damage while being driven by a 17-year-old driver. Despite this, the Cybertruck appears to be almost undamaged. However, the angle of the photos makes it difficult to fully understand the damage to the Cybertruck.

This accident took place on Skyline Boulevard in Palo Alto, California. According to The Verge's report, Mashable contacted the California Highway Patrol and received information about the accident. In the accident that occurred on December 28, 2023, at around 14:05 local time, it was stated that the Toyota Corolla turned right while heading south at an undetermined speed and hit an earthen embankment on the right side of the road, then turned back onto the road and collided with a Tesla Cybertruck heading north.

Automotive experts expressed concern about Cybertruck's security problems. According to Reuters, the danger is not only for the driver, but also for pedestrians and other vehicles. Samer Hamdar, professor of automotive safety at George Washington University, talked about the Cybertruck's limitations in "break zones" that can absorb impact during an accident. Additionally, Julia Criswold from the University of California, Berkeley, emphasized that there are "red flags" for pedestrians due to the load and high acceleration of the Cybertruck.

Tesla's CEO Elon Musk does not agree with these concerns. “We are quite confident that Cybertruck will be much safer per mile than other trucks, for both passengers and pedestrians,” he said in his statement to X Post.

This accident brought about valuable discussions about car safety and Tesla's attitude on this issue. In particular, the risks that the Cybertruck could potentially pose raises new questions regarding driver safety and pedestrian protection. How to ensure safety for drivers and pedestrians stands out as an important issue for car manufacturers and regulatory bodies.
