Elon Musk is unhappy with the Cybertruck's manufacturing precision

Tesla CEO Elon Musk examined the production process of the company's long-awaited Cybertruck pickup truck, and the results are not very satisfactory.

Musk said any dimensional differences are noticeable, as the Cybertruck is “mostly made of shiny metal with straight edges.” He also underlined that all parts, whether supplied internally or from suppliers, must be designed with precision below 10 microns and said, “If very low-cost LEGO and soda cans can do it, we can do it too.”

In the past, Tesla was often criticized for its fit and surface quality. However, it is generally accepted that the quality has increased over the years. Tesla's newest products, such as the Model Y, are getting better in this regard.

Tesla plans to start official Cybertruck production in the coming weeks and hold a delivery event by the end of the quarter.
