Canik Municipality organized an awareness event in the district to draw attention to Celiac disease and gluten-free living. In the awareness event, which citizens attended with interest, activities were organized for children with Celiac disease. In the activity organized in cooperation with Canik Municipality and Samsun Celiac and Gluten-Free Nutrition Association, citizens were informed about Celiac disease and gluten-free nutrition. Stating that they are aware of Celiac disease, Canik Mayor İbrahim Sandıkçı said that they continue their gluten-free food support for citizens with Celiac disease in the district. Within the scope of the activity, foods prepared from gluten-free products were offered to citizens.

Stating that they continue to deliver gluten-free food parcels to the citizens with Celiac disease in the district, President İbrahim Sandıkçı said, “Our citizens are having problems accessing gluten-free foods due to the lack of sufficient production and high prices. Being aware of this situation and Celiac disease, we continue to support our gluten-free food parcels with sensitivity. We deliver our gluten-free food parcels to needy and low-income citizens with Celiac disease in our district. Together with our groups, we visit our citizens at their homes and deliver them our boxes of foods suitable for a gluten-free diet. "We continue to carry out awareness activities in our district in order to raise awareness about Celiac disease and gluten sensitivity in our society," he said.
