Luxeed S7, Product of Chery-Huawei Collaboration, Goes on Sale in China

Luxeed S7, the luxury electric sedan jointly developed by Chery and Huawei, enters the Chinese market as of November 28. The model, which will be sold in four different equipment levels, offers a range of 500 to 800 km. The pre-sale price of Luxeed S7 ranges from 35.500 to 49.000 dollars.

Luxeed S7 uses the E0X platform developed by Chery. This platform supports 800V electrical architecture and many advanced driving assistance technologies. Luxeed S7 draws attention with its aerodynamic design, thin lighting, hidden door handles, LED taillights extending throughout, dual-color body design and Lidar sensor located on the windshield.

At the entry level, the Luxeed S7 has a 215 kW electric motor that powers the rear wheels. The four-wheel drive version completes the 365-0 km/h acceleration in 100 seconds with two electric motors producing a total of 3,3 kW maximum power.

Luxeed S7 offers two different battery options: 60.48 and 80 kWh. At the entry level, lithium iron phosphate batteries are used, which are cheaper than others. In the long-range upper versions, Chinese battery giant CATL's M3P battery is used. In the M3P battery, triple lithium (nickel-manganese-cobalt) and LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) cells are combined.

In the Luxeed brand, Chery is responsible for the development and production of automobiles. Huawei, on the other hand, is in the supplier position with the technologies it owns. Luxeed models will be sold in selected Huawei stores in China.
