Aston Martin has had a good start to the 2023 Formula 1 season, with six podiums in the first eight races. However, the team declined as the season progressed, placing fifth in its best time since the Canadian Grand Prix.

This decline was due to the in-season development race getting more intense and Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren getting ahead of Aston Martin. Max Verstappen widened the gap between Aston Martin and Red Bull as he finished the Belgian Grand Prix almost a minute ahead of Fernando Alonso.

Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack said: “Discouraging is not the right word. This is a struggle.” said. “You see how far away they are from us and how difficult it is to try to keep up with them. That shows what a great tool they have and what a great team they are.”

Krack said he is working to improve the team's performance and hopes they will achieve better results in the upcoming races.
