Aston Martin started the season well, but zammoments of falling in form
The Aston Martin has been on the podium in six of the first eight races, but has only been in the top five once in the last four races, and never took a podium. The team has been working hard in the background to clear up the ongoing negativity since the Canadian GP, but the expected step has yet to come. The new front wing for the Singapore GP is expected to be a good step forward.
Speaking on the subject, Lance Stroll said that they need bigger steps to be able to fight the teams at the front. “We were fast from the start this year, but the last few races have been a bit more difficult,” said Stroll. "Many teams have caught up, so now it's a lot more intense."
Stroll said he believes the team can go one step further in the second half of the season and return to the competitive car they had at the start of the year. “The team has made some minor changes to the car so far, which has definitely helped,” said Stroll. “But I think we still have to keep pushing.”
“We're still not as fast as we'd like,” Stroll concluded.
