Luca di Montezemolo is the former president of Ferrari, which left its mark on the sport in the early 2000s. He left his job after 2014, but now there are opinions that he should take over the team again.
Montezemolo, in an interview he gave to the Italian press recently, criticized Ferrari, which was far from the desired success, and the team's attitude.
Montezemolo said, “You know what I see as misfortune? That they are now celebrating third place, just like in Spa.” said.
“Ferrari is not like that, and the Old Man (Enzo) would never, ever accept that.”
Montezemolo also praised his former boss, Enzo Ferrari. “Enzo Ferrari taught me a lot. For example, he taught me never to be complacent.” said.
"After a victory he always thought about the next race. It was also a challenge to maintain that."
“Enzo hated the holidays. He would keep me in the office in August, not support those who went on vacation in August.”
“He was also a guy who loved to have fun and had a sense of humor.”
Montezemolo believes Ferrari's problem right now is not the driver. “I think who's driver is the smallest problem. When I was president, I created a Dream Team of [Michael] Schumacher, [Jean] Todt, [Ross] Brawn and [Rory] Byrne.” said.
“Personally, as a fan, I always dream of a Ferrari that competes for the championship until the last race, even if they don't win,” he said.
