Helio Castroneves, IndyCar legend, 48 years old zammomentarily ends his racing career.
Tom Blomqvist, 29, who made his career debut in Toronto last month, will replace Castroneves.
Castroneves will only race in the Indianapolis 500 next season.
Blomqvist said, “I've been looking for an opportunity to step into IndyCar for a long time; This is an opportunity that I am eager and motivated to make the most of.”
"I've been very lucky to have had a wonderful group of people around me throughout my career, now I'm on my way to a new phase of my career," said Castroneves.
