Ford announced on Friday that it will recall 870,000 F-150 models in the United States.
The problem is caused by the risk of unexpected activation of the electric parking brake.
According to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall covers F-2021 pickup models manufactured in the 2023 to 150 model years. This recall only affects models with a single exhaust system.
Ford made the following statement regarding the recall:
“The safety of our customers is paramount to us. This recall is to fix a potential cable issue and is done so our customers can drive their vehicles safely.”
