Toyota will continue to work with McLaren even after their contract has expired

McLaren will start using the new wind tunnel at the Woking factory this month. This marks the end of the team's partnership with the Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe (TGR-E) facility in Cologne, which it has used for 12 years.

McLaren first started using Toyota's old F2010 wind tunnel in 1, and it zamIt has been used to design all McLaren vehicles ever since. The construction of the new wind tunnel means McLaren will no longer use the Cologne facility, but the Japanese manufacturer feels that this does not mean the "end" for their partnership.

TGR-E Managing Director Rob Leupen said, “Our door remains open to McLaren; We wish them success in the new wind tunnel.” said. “While this naturally changes the services McLaren demands from TGR-E and the frequency with which its engineers are in Cologne, we have an open dialogue and are playing a constructive role in the integration of the new wind tunnel into development programs.”

Leupen said, “I think TGR-E clearly demonstrates on this occasion how it can add long-term value to high-end engineering projects. We look forward to supporting innovative companies like McLaren in the future.” said.
