Charles Leclerc clarifies whether he will stay at Ferrari

The Monaco driver has been racing for Ferrari since 2019 and his long-term contract will expire at the end of 2024.

It has been stated recently that Leclerc is preparing to sign a 3+2 year deal with Ferrari and will earn around 200 million euros in five years.

However, in a statement to Corriere dello Sport, Leclerc stated that there is no meeting yet.

“The fact that my name is mentioned with other teams means I did my job well,” the Monaco driver said.

“But I don't look at them because I know what I want. I still don't know what Ferrari wants from me."

“Although contract negotiations have not started yet, everything is clear to me, I love Ferrari and I want to win here. That's my priority." said.

Asked whether his close ties with Vasseur would play an important role in keeping him at Ferrari, Leclerc replied: “Yes, every time. zamAside from my current and continuing love for Ferrari, there are many things I can share with Fred. Most of them are about plans for the future. We are connected to each other.”

“I know what awaits us and I am confident. I love this team and I want to win with them.”

Leclerc is also confident that he can beat Max Verstappen.

“We can beat it, which we've already done. We must continue to work to close the gap between him and Red Bull.”

The Monaco driver hopes that Carlos Sainz, who is named after Audi, will also stay in the team.

“It would be a mistake if Carlos decides to part ways with the team.”

“Even though there is intense competition between us, our togetherness is going well. He has a very good working mentality.”

Leclerc's words show that he wants to stay at Ferrari long-term and want to win the championship with the team. However, it remains unclear what Leclerc will do in the future, as talks have not yet begun.
