While the future of the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger is uncertain, the Ford Mustang remains Detroit's only "muscular" car.

Ford CEO Jim Farley said in an interview with Bloomberg that producing an all-electric Mustang coupe is a controversial topic. Farley said that the traditional two-door Mustang is not like an all-electric Porsche 911 and that the internal combustion engine is part of the Mustang's DNA.

“Could it be an all-electric Mustang coupe? No, it probably won't. But could it be a partially electric Mustang coupe - and be offered for sale in world class? Yes." said.

Farley's comments indicate Ford's plans to introduce a hybrid version of the Mustang in the coming years.

Ford's launch of a hybrid Mustang could be the start of a new era for muscle cars. Hybrid technology can help increase the Mustang's performance and efficiency, making it appealing to a wider audience.
