The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is a special on-road production version of the GT3 race car. Adaptive suspension and racing-inspired adjustments are enhanced by technologies such as active aerodynamics that are prohibited under it. It will be available in late 2024 or early 2025 and will have a starting price of approximately $300.000. Ford will accept customers by application only, a process similar to the sales method of the Ford GT.

The name of this Mustang comes from the IMSA GTD racing category, where the GT3 version races in the United States.

Despite rumors of no mid-engine, the Mustang GTD's engine is a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 unit in front of the driver. Exact power data has yet to be released, but Ford is targeting over 800 horsepower, making it the highest horsepower Mustang the automaker has ever produced. The engine's cut-in rating is over 7,500rpm, and there's also a titanium exhaust system with an active valve system.

The Mustang GTD has a trans-axle box at the rear and a transactional transmission, which contributes to the car's weight distribution of almost 50-50 percent. This eight-speed dual-clutch transmission transmits power from the carbon fiber driveshaft to the engine's trans axle box.

The Variable Traction Control system in Track Mode can be used to adjust engine power and traction control. This allows drivers to tailor the car to their driving abilities around the track.
