Hyundai introduced its first high-performance electric model, the IONIQ 5 N, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed held in England. The IONIQ 5 N represents the future of electrification of the N brand and the beginning of a new era for performance enthusiasts to enjoy their driving passion.

The IONIQ 5 N best represents Hyundai's investment and work in delivering high-quality mobility alongside other driver-focused N models. Produced using the award-winning E-GMP platform, the IONIQ 5 N differs from the standard version with sporty details both in exterior design and interior.

Setting off with the theme of “Everyday Sports Car”, IONIQ 5 N has 42 points of additional welds on the body and more than 2 meters of adhesive. While the chassis is strengthened, it shows a high handling performance even in the hardest corners. The engine and battery assembly are also supported with these components, while the front and rear subframes have been developed for lateral rigidity. Reinforced axles inspired by the World Rally Championship serve both at the front and at the rear. The IONIQ 5 N is built to withstand stronger electric motor torque while running on 21-inch aluminum wheels.

Engineers who prefer high ratios to improve steering response are the same. zamIt also uses a specially tuned N R-MDPS (Motor Driven Power Steering) system for enhanced torque feedback. These add-ons offer a more direct and communicative steering experience that will instill greater confidence in drivers.

N Pedal brings the superior handling characteristics of Hyundai's championship-winning i20 N WRCs to the natural weight and size of EVs. This intelligent software in the IONIQ 5 N provides improved throttle sensitivity. Utilizing similar technology as in i-Pedal's regenerative braking system, N Pedal prioritizes fast and exciting cornering over energy efficiency.

N Drift Optimizer helps maintain the slip angle by balancing vehicle control. The integrated Torque Kick Drift function also allows the driver to drift more evenly. This feature is achieved thanks to advanced electronic control technology.

This powerful electric car produces 478 kW / 650 PS with N Grin Boost activated and can turn 21 thousand revolutions. Offering an advanced thermal management system with battery, engine oil and battery cooler, the car provides maximum cooling in high performance use by using independent radiators. The IONIQ 5 N is restrained by N brand brakes, which represent Hyundai's most powerful braking system. 400mm diameter front discs with four-piston, monobloc caliper are accompanied by 360mm rear discs.

Standing out as an everyday sports car, the IONIQ 5 N also offers an assertive gear shifting and racing car sound via integrated N e-shift and N Active Sound +. N e-shift, conflict between power transmission and shiftingzam N Active Sound increases driving pleasure with petrol engine sounds.
