Reaching the highest monthly sales in its history with the sales figure of 10 units in May, Opel became Turkey's choice with its successful model family. In May 671, Opel Mokka was at the top of both the B-SUV and the electric vehicle market; Corsa and Astra ranked second in their segments after their domestic rivals. By closing the month of May with 5 thousand 10 sales, we reached our highest sales figure in 671 years. These numbers took us to a successful market share of 20 percent in May. When we look at the first 9,6 months of the year, it has reached 5 units in 5 months and a share of 29 percent. As we move forward step by step in line with our 609 targets, we continue to strengthen our position among the Opel markets. This performance in May made us the country with the highest sales of Opel after Germany.”

Mokka, the new leader of the B-SUV

The brand maintains its strong position in commercial vehicles as well. As of the end of May, Opel is in the top 6 with a 6,9 percent share in passenger cars, while it is the 5th brand in commercial vehicles with a 5,7 percent market share.

Opel Turkey General Manager Emre Özocak, who said that Opel has increased its success rate day by day, said, “The biggest contribution to this success belongs to Corsa and Mokka, which are the most assertive models in their segments. In May 2023, Mokka took the first place in the B-SUV segment, while Opel stood out as the leader of this segment. Our successful B-HB model Corsa, on the other hand, ranked 2nd in its segment with 364 sales in May and reached a market share of 2 percent. Corsa ranks 18,3th in the passenger car market in Turkey.

Reminding that they closed last year with a total of 36 thousand 725 units, Emre Özocak said, “We have approached the total number of sales we made last year in the first 5 months of this year. There are also elements in the market that give us an opportunity. We continue to increase our market share continuously by evaluating this and supplying vehicles. In this, there is also the influence of Astra as the driving force. Opel Astra has been an important power source for us since the beginning of the year. With 1.347 Astra sales in May, we ranked 14,3nd in C-HB with a share of 2%. As of the end of May, Astra took the second place after our domestic competitor.” Emphasizing that they closed the month of May with 2 thousand 10 sales, Emre Özocak continued his words as follows: “We are reaching the highest sales figures in the last 671 years. We closed the month of May with a market share of 20 percent. When we added the May performance to the top of April, we reached 9,6 units. Emphasizing that as Opel, they are also the most striking brand in the electric vehicle market, Emre Özocak said, “The best-selling vehicle of May in electric vehicles was Mokka Elektrik with 318 units. When we include Corsa Elektrik in the month leadership we achieved with Mokka Elektrik, we reached a share of 16,5% and completed May 2023 ahead.”
