Cisco Webex is the first collaboration application in Audi's 2024 model vehicles. With this partnership, which will transform vehicles into a connected office environment in accordance with the requirements of a flexible working culture, it will be possible to attend meetings in the safest and smoothest way, even while in traffic.

Cisco and German vehicle manufacturer Audi have joined forces to strengthen the hybrid working experience. In partnership with Volkswagen Group's software company Cariad and Samsung's subsidiary Harman, Cisco collaboration technology Webex will be the first application available for hybrid operation in many Audi models from model year 2024.

Hybrid working is becoming more and more common all over the world. The modern work environment is no longer limited to a single space or device. Today, our vehicles have also become a kind of office environment. Professionals demand more flexible, customizable and seamless ways, and they need innovative solutions that support a flexible working culture. The Cisco Webex-Audi collaboration aims to meet exactly this expectation.

Jeetu Patel, Cisco Vice President and General Manager of Security and Collaboration, said of the partnership:

“We are taking a very important step towards transforming the connected car into yet another extension of the hybrid workplace. Our work with leading manufacturers like Audi gives our customers a safe and seamless way to stay connected and productive, regardless of where and how they work.”

The advantages of Cisco and Audi cooperation are as follows:

Simple installation: “Drivers can download the Webex app from the App Store in Audi's infotainment system and no phone is required for installation. The shop ensures that the applications in the vehicle meet the Volkswagen Group's high safety standards. With this simple setup, drivers can seamlessly transition from Webex meetings on their electronic devices to in-car meetings.”

Purposeful security features: “With features designed to put safety first, Webex allows drivers to attend meetings without taking their eyes off the road by switching to audio-only mode while the vehicle is in motion. While parked, drivers can take advantage of Webex's full collaboration experience, viewing meeting participants, shared content, and captions.”

Meetings enhanced with artificial intelligence: “Drivers will have access to Webex's built-in artificial intelligence features for best-in-class noise reduction and audio optimization. This will allow drivers to hear meetings clearly without road noise or distracting background noise from environmental factors.”

In which models will it be offered?

As of July 2023, the App Store where the Webex app can be downloaded will be available on Audi A4, A5, Q5, A6, A7, A8, Q8, e-tron and e-tron GT models in Europe, USA, Canada, Mexico and overseas markets.

How will it be procured?

To meet consumer demand and provide a secure mobile collaboration experience that is safe, secure and easy to use, Webex will be available through the in-vehicle Audi App Store. The App Store was developed by CARIAD and HARMAN and is designed for specific Audi vehicles. Other brands of the Volkswagen Group will follow in the process.
