Battery status is the priority in a second-hand electric car

Electric vehicles have begun to increase in popularity. With the widespread use of electric cars, a second-hand market has also emerged. There is a noticeable increase in the sales of electric vehicles in car markets and showrooms. In electric cars, the vehicle's battery stands out as the most important feature. Experts point out that the battery life of the vehicle should be checked, especially when buying a second-hand car.

Making statements about the increase in demand for second-hand electric cars, sector representative Yavuz Çiftçi warned buyers. Çiftçi said that battery life is the most important criterion to consider when buying a second-hand electric car.

Reminding that the demand for electric vehicles has increased in recent years, Çiftçi said, “The rise in fuel prices also accelerates this trend. A market has also emerged in second-hand electric vehicles. It also stands out in car markets. "Currently, our second-hand car sales are between 5-10 percent compared to other internal combustion cars," he said.

“When buying a second-hand electric car, the priority should be the life of the batteries.”

Giving advice to electric car buyers, Çiftçi said, “Buyers see it as more attractive for urban use. As battery stations become more widespread, demand for out-of-city travel will also increase. The indispensable criterion for electric cars is the battery condition. Manufacturers state that the battery life is on average 8-10 years. The most important and costly part of electric cars is the batteries. Therefore, when buying a second-hand electric car, the priority should be the life of the batteries. "A cost calculation should be made based on the remaining life of the batteries and their usage," he said.
