High demand for Xiaomi's electric car!

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi announced that it has received more than 7 orders for its sports electric vehicle named SU100,000 and has started the first deliveries.

Xiaomi introduced its first electric vehicle last week and set a price below $ 7 for the main model of the vehicle named SU7, which stands for Speed Ultra 30,000. Xiaomi stated that it plans to sell the vehicle only in China for now.

Lei Jun, CEO and co-founder of Xiaomi, said at the ceremony held for the first deliveries, "Xiaomi's vehicle is officially on the scene for the first time, the real revolution in smart vehicles has officially begun, and China will create a decent company like Tesla."

The first deliveries will be made of 5,000 vehicles that Xiaomi has already produced. The vehicles in this group, called "Founder's Edition", include additional accessories for the first customers who purchase the vehicle.

Following last week's introduction, Xiaomi warned customers that they may face a waiting period of between four and seven months, pointing out that there was heavy demand for the vehicle.

Xiaomi's shares rose 10,000 percent yesterday after the SU7 attracted heavy attention, even though a brokerage firm predicted that Xiaomi would lose about $16 per vehicle this year.
