Toyota Prius was chosen as the 'Most Environmentally Friendly Car'

Toyota's Prius model, which made a name for itself with its design and technology, was again selected as the "Most Environmentally Friendly Car".

In the GreenerCars research organized annually by the American Council for an Efficient Energy Economy (ACEEE), Toyota Prius ranked first.

Toyota's Prius model with a plug-in hybrid engine ranked first in the evaluation, earning 71 Green Points. With its success in 2024, Prius was previously positioned at the top of the Most Environmentally Friendly Car list in 2020 and 2022.

However, in the most environmentally friendly vehicles research, there were 10 vehicles in the top 4, including Toyota's full hybrid Camry, plug-in hybrid Prius, RAV4 and full electric bZ5X.

To calculate GreenerCars scores, ACEEE, a non-profit organization, evaluates each 2024 model year car for the human health hazards of vehicle production and disposal, fuel or electricity production/distribution, and air pollution associated with vehicle exhaust emissions.

Among these evaluations, ACEEE assigns Green Points to more than 200 models, including gasoline, diesel, electric, full hybrid and plug-in hybrid.
