Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced motor land vehicle statistics for February. Accordingly, the number of vehicles registered to traffic increased by 9 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year, rising from 26 million 748 thousand 508 to 29 million 142 thousand 942. When we look at TÜİK's 2024 list of motor vehicles by province, the provinces with the highest density of vehicles in traffic became clear. These figures include cars, minibuses, buses, pickup trucks, trucks including heavy-tonnage cargo vehicles, motorcycles, special-use vehicles and tractors.
Istanbul is the city with the busiest traffic
The highest number of vehicles in traffic is in Istanbul with 5 million 486 thousand 7. It follows Istanbul with 2 million 613 thousand 515 vehicles.
Izmir ranked third in the number of vehicles in traffic with 1 million 822 thousand 733 vehicles, Antalya ranked fourth with 1 million 466 thousand 17 vehicles and Bursa ranked fifth with 1 million 159 thousand 117 vehicles.
