Mercedes-Benz makes the GLB SUV, with its spacious interior and compact design, even more attractive to customers with numerous innovations and more comprehensive standard equipment. The redesigned front bumper with under-bumper protection highlights the vehicle's off-road driving habits. The SUV radiator grille with four slats and the centrally positioned Mercedes-Benz star underline this effect once again.
Eye-catching new high-performance LED headlights and LED taillights enhance the appearance, while more options are now available with the newly added four-wheel design and new Spectral Blue Metallic body color. On the new GLB, 18-inch wheels in the Progressive Design Concept and 19-inch wheels in the AMG Design Concept are offered as standard, while 20-inch wheels are also available as an option.
One of the highlights of the significantly improved interior is the independent dual screen. Two 10,25-inch screens for the relevant instrument panel and multimedia screens are offered as standard. While the turbine-like ventilation ducts emphasize sporty elegance, they also contrast with the straight-line interior aluminum components characteristic of off-road vehicles. A leather steering wheel is offered as standard in the GLB Progressive Design Concept, and a nappa leather steering wheel is offered as standard in the AMG Design Concept.
Recommendations made simpler with extensive standard equipment
Comfort seats are standard in the new GLB model. ARTICO leather, which is standard in seat coverings, also has an optional stylish sage green color option. The Progressive Design Concept has three different ARTICO leather upholstery options in black, Macchiato Beige and Sage Green. ARTICO leather/microfiber MICROCUT standard seat upholstery is now offered in the Bahia Brown option in the AMG Design Concept, while a total of four different upholstery colors are also available, including black, Bahia Brown, Sage Green and the newly added two-tone red-black upholstery. In ARTICO/MICROCUT seat covering, this ratio is 65 percent for the seat mirror and 85 percent for the bottom fabric.
The GLB's standard equipment has also been significantly improved and can be adapted to be more compatible with specific customer requests. The basic equipment includes High Beam Assist, a reversing camera and the USB package, as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and LED headlights. Customers are now also offered the Parking Package in the Progressive Design Concept. While other functional equipment is offered in separate packages based on actual customer trends, customers can also customize their vehicle in terms of design features such as color, interior upholstery, detail designs and rims.
Intuitive operation and adaptive software in the latest generation MBUX system
The GLB now also features the latest generation MBUX system with newly designed display styles. While the 'Classic' option provides all the necessary driver information, the 'Sporty' option amazes with its dynamic rev counter. Those who want to keep the experience limited to basic content can choose the 'Smart' option. Numerous personalization options are offered to customers with 10 different ambient lighting color options along with Navigation, Help and Service modes. While all previous functions such as Media, Phone or Vehicle are preserved, the relevant functions can be easily used via the touch screen or with finger controls on the steering wheel.
The main focus of telematics system renewal efforts is new design and improved performance. To further improve connectivity, the GLB now features an additional USB-C port and faster USB charging speed, and all USB sockets are illuminated. In the future, wireless network connection of smartphones will also be possible with the Android Auto or Apple CarPlay application.
The optional Burmester® Surround Sound System now delivers an immersive Dolby Atmos audio experience with the latest generation of MBUX, giving music more space, clarity and depth. The system is also compatible with any environment, and music listeners can now hear music with unprecedented clarity that reflects the artist's original vision in the studio.
