Nanolab Packaging Testing

Nanolab Packaging Testing

Nanolab Packaging Analysis Laboratory, accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) for packaging analyses, provides services to numerous countries, including Turkey, Germany, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and others, with its authorized and experienced analysts. Quality controls are conducted on Paper, Metal, and Plastic Paper packaging within the scope of packaging analyzes.

Our scope of analyzes includes the following:

Migration Analysis: The transfer of chemical substances from various food packaging materials to the food is referred to as migration. The passage of harmful substances, as specified by relevant standards and regulations, into the food is deemed unacceptable. Therefore, migration analysis is conducted to determine if any migration occurs and, if so, whether it complies with the specified limits

Migration analysis consists of two types: total migration and specific migration.

Under total migration, a food simulant is created to mimic a food-like environment, and packaging materials are exposed to this environment according to the analysis methods specified in the standard. Subsequently, the simulants are analyzed to determine whether migration has occurred.

Specific migration involves controlling the passage of specific chemical substances. Bisphenol A, epoxy derivatives, primary aromatic amines, heavy metals, and phthalates are analyzed within the scope of specific migration.

Physical Analyzes: The physical structure of packaging is crucial for durability and usage life. Physical tests such as Tensile Strength Test, Heat Stress Test, Coefficient of Friction, Gelbo Flex Test, Peel Resistance Test, Abrasion Analysis, Compression Test, Tear Test, and Leak Seal Strength are conducted to assess the physical properties of packaging.

Structure Determination: Packaging remains in contact with the contents, such as food or pharmaceuticals, until reaching the consumer. Therefore, the structure and raw materials used in packaging are significant. Structure determination is performed to identify the composition of packaging materials. Structure determination of the packaging can be conducted using an FTIR device, providing insights into its reliability.
