Ödemiş Municipality says "hello" to 2024 with brand new projects. The garage coffee house, located in the old bus terminal in Ödemiş, will take on a new face and serve the youth of Ödemiş with a book concept. Mehmet Eriş, the educator Mayor of Ödemiş, stated that the book cafe will provide a library environment where students can study in peace on a 24-hour basis. The real estate owned by Ödemiş Municipality, which was used as a garage cafe in Ödemiş for many years, will come to life again with the book cafe concept. Ödemiş Mayor Mehmet Eriş, who examined the studies together with Deputy Mayor Bihter Aka, announced that the students of Ödemiş will provide a new address to the district for their study and exam preparation process.
Providing information about the works, Eriş said, “We are here in the historical garage cafe, we will have arrangements in harmony with the texture. Unfortunately, we cannot realize our ideas about this place as we wish. Since this area is a protected area, we have come to a slightly different position than our original thought. Many operators requested this place, and we also had ideas regarding the business aspect. "But in line with the decisions of the Preservation Board, we will turn this place into a library, that is, a book cafe, for our children and young people in time for the second half of the academic year," he said.
“WE LISTEN TO OUR YOUTH”
Reminding that the old bus station is located in the middle of many educational institutions and that it is extremely easy for students to reach, Eriş continued: “In addition to being located in the middle of our schools, our vehicles going to our rural neighborhoods also pick up and drop off passengers here. It is also close to the Municipality Female Student Guest House. So it is easy to reach. We will provide a good study environment for our children. We will serve with the concept of Book Cafe.
“WE AIM TO KEEP IT OPEN 24 HOURS”
We aim to keep it open 24 hours a day. Our young people had such a request from us. By listening to our young people, we will provide our district with an education center whose light is always on during the university preparation process. We will transform this point, where the heart of Ödemiş beats, into a lively place that lives 24 hours a day. "Congratulations to our Ödemiş already," he said.
