As the winter cold begins to make itself felt, the maintenance period for vehicles begins. Pointing out that it is vital for the vehicle to be prepared for winter rules for road and passenger safety, AKO Battery General Manager Dr. Hulki Büyükkalender stated that battery maintenance should not be neglected.

In order to travel safely in cold weather, rain and snow, a battery suitable for the vehicle's technology and electrical equipment must be used and maintained. AKO Battery, which is part of the AKO Group, states that both the battery life and the performance of the vehicle are preserved for batteries that undergo winter maintenance.

“There is a risk of the liquid inside the battery freezing in cold weather.”

Stating that falling air temperatures have negative effects on batteries and charging AKO Battery General Manager Dr. Hulki Büyükkalender, "If the batteries are not serviced on time, there may be disruption in the vehicle's electrical functions such as the starter motor, ignition system and headlights. Especially in very cold weather, there is a risk of the liquid (electrolyte) inside the battery freezing. While a fully charged battery can last up to -70 degrees, a discharged battery may start to freeze at -5 degrees. For this reason, it is very important to maintain the battery and keep it charged in cold weather. In particular, it must be absolutely ensured that the terminals are clean, which oxidize over time and prevent electrical current. "If the terminals are not clean, the starter motor and other parts will become inoperable," he said.

Annual production capacity of 5 million

Dr. Hulki Büyükkalender, He continued his words as follows; "Turbo Battery, produced with our investments in R&D and innovation, does not require maintenance in winter, thanks to its Matrix Press (Punch) technology, and provides higher performance than other batteries even at very low temperatures; Moreover, it also contributes to fuel savings.”

Continuing its rapid growth with its Turbo Akü and Petlas Akü brands, AKO Akü, with an annual production capacity of 5 million, accounts for 71 percent of its sales from exports to Europe and the Americas.
