According to Toyota's patent, this transmission uses a CVT type system. CVT stands for continuously variable ratio transmission and offers different ratios without the number of gears. While Toyota offers 10 different ratios in its CVT models, this number increases to 14 in the system it will use in electric cars.

According to Toyota's patent, users will be able to pre-select around 14 ratios among these 6 ratios and use these ratios while driving.
