Lexus LF-ZC Challenges Tesla Model 3! Electric Crossover/SUV Prototype Unveiled in Japan

Lexus introduced its new electric crossover/SUV prototype, the LF-ZC, at the Japan auto show. The model has the features of the next generation electric cars planned to be offered for sale in 2026. Lexus LF-ZC Promises 1000 km Range

Lexus LF-ZC gives an ambitious figure in terms of range, which is one of the most important criteria of electric cars. The model says it will offer twice the range of traditional electric vehicles. This means a range of approximately 1000 km. Of course, it has not yet been explained how this figure was obtained and under what conditions it is valid.

The battery of the model is stated as prismatic type. Prismatic batteries have higher energy density and lower cost than cylindrical batteries. It also takes up less space and is cooled more easily.

Lexus LF-ZC draws attention not only with its range but also with its other technologies. The model has the gigacast modular chassis previously announced by Tesla. This chassis is created with a single piece of aluminum casting and provides both lightness and durability.

The steering system of the model is based on steer-by-wire technology. Thanks to this technology, there is no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the wheels. The movement of the steering wheel is transmitted electronically to the wheels via sensors and cables. In this way, the cabin interior becomes larger and the steering feel and response can be adjusted.

The design of the model reflects Lexus' new design language. While there is Lexus's new logo on the front of the model, the headlights and taillights feature LED technology. The model's muscular lines and large luggage volume provide advantages in terms of usability.

The Lexus LF-ZC prototype will go on sale in 2026 after being introduced at the Japan auto show. The model will be available worldwide, including the USA. The price of the model has not been announced yet.
