OUR REPRESENTATIVES ARE PLAYING THEIR FIRST MATCH IN THEIR GROUP!
Our representative Galatasaray hosted Copenhagen in the first match of Champions League Group A on September 20. Beşiktaş will host Club Brugge away from Belgium on Thursday, September 21st. Fenerbahçe will host FC Nordsjaelland at home.
WHAT IS TURKEY'S COUNTRY SCORE TARGET?
Turkey's goal in the UEFA country rankings should be to at least catch up with Belgium, which is in eighth place, and to send more teams to the European cups. The country ranked eighth at the end of this season will be able to send two teams to the Champions League next season, while the country ranked ninth will be able to send only one team. Therefore, every point our representatives receive is of great importance.
HOW IS THE COUNTRY SCORE CALCULATED?
The UEFA country point calculation method is as follows: At the beginning of each season, the country points of the last five seasons are added up and thus the country point ranking of that season is determined. The country score is obtained by dividing the sum of the points received by the teams participating in the European cups from that country by the number of teams participating from that country. For example, if one team from Turkey is participating in the Champions League and two teams in the Conference League this season, the sum of the points received by these teams is divided by three and thus Turkey's country score for that season is calculated.
WHAT IS FIFA COUNTRY RANKING?
FIFA country rankings are a system used by FIFA to determine the strength of national teams in world football. In this system, points are given according to the performance of national teams in the matches they have played in the last four years, and a ranking is created by adding these points. FIFA country rankings, unlike the UEFA country rankings, measure the achievements of national teams, not club teams.
