Ferrari failed to deliver the kind of update that would help them tackle Red Bull and the team currently sits in fourth place in the Team Rankings.

When asked which team was the fastest behind Red Bull, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz said: “McLaren for the last two races, but Mercedes on average.”

Sainz says Ferrari is currently behind and they will try to catch up in the second part of the season.

“I think we are definitely not where we want to be.

“We had a couple of strong weekends in Canada and Austria where we were heading in the right direction.”

"But the last two weeks have been a bit of a surprise, especially surprising how Mercedes and McLaren have made great strides and moved ahead."

“Now it all starts again: improving the car and trying to get ahead again. When you're not as fast as you want to be, it's easier to make mistakes and be less consistent.”
