The fluctuation problem, which left its mark on last year and especially seriously affected Mercedes, seems to have disappeared as of this season. However, the team may have bad days again, as both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell stated that they had serious problems during the Belgian GP.

The team is now investigating the reasons for the ripple's return. The first possibility that comes to mind is that the correct settings could not be found due to the sprint weekend and rain.

Speaking in Mercedes' review video, Mike Elliott said: "We've had some volatility this weekend. That was the feedback from both pilots, and the data proves it.” said.

"But we were seeing other cars have some fluctuation as well, I think part of that is due to the nature of the track," said Elliott. said.

Elliott said, “The problem definitely affects vehicle performance, as drivers can have a hard time achieving maximum grip, maintaining the ideal balance and setting braking points correctly.” said.

Mercedes is working on solving the surge problem. However, it is not yet clear how quickly the problem will be resolved.
