Binotto could go to Alpine with a name from Ferrari

Alpine is looking to appoint ex-Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto as team principal after sacking Otmar Szafnauer.

Rumors are that Binotto will be announced as Alpine's new team principal as early as September.

If Binotto, whose name is also mentioned with Audi, but seems closer to Alpine, signs a deal with the French manufacturer, it will not be a surprise if he takes some of his Ferrari colleagues there.

Italian FormulaPassion has suggested that one such name could be Luigi Fraboni, head of Ferrari's Power Unit Operations and Electronics division.

Fraboni joined Ferrari almost early in his career and has been there for many years. He also has many years of working experience with Binotto.

If the allegations are true, the duo will have worked together this time in Alpine, after about a year.

Alpine is currently not commenting on rumors about both Binotto and Fraboni.
