Aston Martin wants to continue the momentum it gained at Zandvoort

The Silverstone-based team managed to surprise everyone with the big step it took at the beginning of the 2023 Formula 1 season.

However, as the races progressed, they could not avoid falling behind due to the mistakes made by Aston Martin and the increase in the performance of the rival teams.

Updates to Zandvoort once again put the British team at the front, with Fernando Alonso taking a strong second place on Sunday.

Aston Martin boss Mike Krack stated that the parts brought worked as they wanted.

“We are trying to bring some new parts to the car,” Krack said. Data analysis is not easy due to the difficult conditions and changing conditions we live in. But everything is moving in the right direction.” said.

“I think we've taken one small step at the spa, I believe we've taken another step here. But we need to confirm that in the upcoming races as well.”

However, the development of AM23 will not be limited to this, as the team is preparing a new update to increase straight speed and use DRS more efficiently.

When asked about the package to bring to Monza, Krack replied, "We'll see." said.

“We have been working very hard over the last few weeks to increase the straight speed and improve the DRS effect. So Monza will be a good test.”
